Spirituality and Stress

Spirituality is not a baniya ki dukaan. It is the science of spirit. It is knowing yourself. It is not a form of medicine like homeopathy or allopathy. Nor is it a formula that will help you tackle stress.

Treat the root cause

Although there are so many books on how to deal with stress, so many people are offering techniques and formulas for dealing with stress, but there is no improvement in the situation. People still continue to reel under it; that is because we are not hitting the right target. We are not working on removing the reason behind stress, instead are only dealing with its symptoms.

Redirect your energy

Stress is an indication that your energy and your capacity are not being used in the right manner. It is an indicator that you need to channelise your energy elsewhere. It is something that urges you to bring about a change in your way of thinking and living, and spirituality teaches you how to do this, how to go about it and grow. It is like a teacher telling you hey man wake up, you are not on the right path.

To date there are so many people offering you meditation techniques, motivational talks, therapies to deal with stress, sure they work but for only a little while. But then you are not treating the root, you only land up treating the leaves.

Realise your true potential

Stress is not something that you cope with. It is beautiful gift of God to realise our potential. It is also time to remember what you offer to others, to the world. It is time to take a look at what you are doing to create stress…your attitude, your tone, your behavior, it just might be creating stress for others, and what you give out, comes back to you many fold, in any case.

Also remove other people’s stress, yours will go away automatically.
