THE MANTRA OF OUR REPUBLIC
Jana gana mana adhinayak jaya hey…
Every year republic day is celebrated grandiosely by spending enormous amounts of money whereas simplicity was the message of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhiji. How will things move in the right direction if the right path is not chosen, keeping in mind the sacrifice of the true sons of Bharat and the warning of visionaries?
The true justification of this day is inherent in understanding the exact meaning of republic (ganatantra) and then using it to awaken the patriotism asleep in true Indians (bhartiyas). Just like good management of Creation is bound by tantra (mechanism), yantra (machinery) and mantra (vibration) in the same way the Indian public (jan) in an organised group (gan) is like the mechanism (tantra) that is spread in every corner of the country like the complete network of organs and nerves in the body. It has been consolidated, collected and given strength by the machinery of the Government of India whose mantra, the constitution is the seed and source of power for organised conduct.
Whenever there is a problem in the body or poisonous germs thrive, their immediate treatment becomes imperative or else the entire body may become infected. Similarly if the government, akin to the brain, does not use its wisdom by constantly improvising its laws by amending them according to the time requirement our national anthem (jana gana mana) a symbol of our national identity, will not reverberate with sweet rhythmic harmony. The key for unity is one rule, law and punishment for all.
In the republic day parade people from different areas of the country come and display a variety of cultures. These are mostly government school children or those people who are not from very affluent families. Are they the only ones who are meant to show their patriotism? That for many days in a row they practice hard in the lanes of the capital, without worrying about the weather, exhibiting their display with tireless effort. The children going to English or public schools and people from wealthy families usually stay away from these parades. These people who are neck deep in western influence enjoy the day off by going to hotels, discos or relaxing at home. Everyone should be conscious and aware of discriminatory acts like these that tend to create a rift between various sections of society.
The Indian constitution should develop such a wholesome and righteous republic where the entire populace is tied to one mechanism with a single thread enhancing a feeling of mutual brotherhood and respect by chanting the mantra of love. Every unit should be understood to be an important contributor in the progress of the nation and cordial relations maintained with it. Laws should not remain mere laws. They should be enforced in everyday conduct only then they are useful.
So come, on the auspicious occasion of the Republic day, rising above personal selfish motives, let us pledge to be patriots and lovers of our motherland. Let us experience pride in being inhabitants of Ved Bhumi Bharat and with a true heart and soul accept that ‘every person who resides in India is only an Indian.’ The dharm of everyone is truth, love and karm. True conduct and duty (dharm-karm) is welfare of human and humanity.
May human love human
May pranam enlighten the world
May peace reside in human hearts
And may every body be a temple of the divine.
May the dream of vasudhaiv kutumbkum – the whole world is family and truth always conquers comes true.
